  1. Why should I take out this insurance? The new Damage and Theft insurance protects your used equipment against accidental damage and theft, screen breakage or liquid spillage, in Portugal and abroad.
  2. What is covered by this insurance? Insurance covers theft, break-in theft, accidental damage, screen breakage and liquid spillage on used devices. For more details on coverage, see the pre-contractual insurance conditions here.
  3. What is not covered by this insurance?
    • Loss, forgetfulness and abandonment
    • Warranty repairs, breakdowns and mechanical defects
    • Simple theft, no break-in or use of force
    • Aesthetic damage, damage from wear and tear and normal use of the smartphone or tablet
  4. How much does this insurance cost? From €7.99/month depending on the price of the equipment (without discounts) that will be included in the policy.
  5. How is this premium charged? Premium payment is made via MB WAY or credit card. The debit will be made by the insurance intermediary that provides the service – Habit Analytics, PT.
  6. Is the distributor of this insurance, that is, the brand that redirects the customer to this insurance, responsible for selling it and providing support to the customer in the event of a claim? The brand in question is not responsible for the sale of insurance, nor for customer support (this will be provided by the insurance company). The brand is the insurer's partner in the marketing of this insurance.
  7. When will the insurance be valid? The device will be protected 30 days after purchasing the insurance, that is, there is a 30-day grace period between purchasing the insurance and activating it. This is because the item the insurer is covering is used.
  8. Is it possible to cancel the insurance policy at any time? The insurance lasts for an annual period, although the premium payment can be split monthly. This means that the insurance is active for a period of 12 months from the time it is taken out. Cancellation must be communicated at least 30 days prior to the policy renewal date. The policy is automatically renewed for annual periods.
  9. Does the insurance have a cooling off period? You have a 14-day cooling off period to withdraw from the insurance, as long as you have not filed a claim. To cancel, you must contact the insurer via email AzP.Sinistros@allianz.com. After 12 months, you can cancel at any time.
  10. Why do I need to test my equipment to get insurance? Testing the general condition of the equipment is a requirement by the insurer, in order to ensure that, at the time of purchase of the insurance, it was in excellent condition. The test is made on an app called Device Tester and it won't take longer than 1 minute; just make sure you have the equipment charger near you, as well as a mirror to point it to.
  11. Can I delete the Device Tester app after I finish the test? Absolutely. After you finish the test, all updates will be made via e-mail.
  12. When should I take this test? In the purchase process, we will direct you to the testing app, which you will need to download in order to take the test. This test must be done within the following 24 hours.
  13. If my equipment is not eligible for insurance, do I get my money back? These cases are rare, however, if your equipment is not eligible, you will receive a refund of the insurance amount to your account, immediately.
  14. What do I do if my device is damaged or stolen? If you have insurance and your equipment has been damaged or stolen, contact the Allianz Assistance insurance company within a maximum of 8 days after the incident, via email AzP.Sinistros@allianz.com. In case of theft, you must immediately report it to the competent authorities and obtain the number of the report of the occurrence with an indication of the IMEI.
  15. Is there a deductible? How much do I have to pay? Yes, if you report a claim and it is accepted, you must pay a 15% deductible on the insurance amount, with a minimum of €30. For example: If your insurance for a two year-period is €226.37, the deductible will be €33.95. This amount must be settled through an ATM reference provided by Allianz Assistance.
  16. Where should I deliver the equipment for repair, after approval from the insurance company? If your claim is accepted, you must deliver your equipment...

  18. What should I do in case of an insurance claim or dispute? Any case of complaint must always be resolved directly with the insurer via email.
  19. If I leave my equipment forgotten in a place and something happens, or it is lost somewhere, am I still covered by insurance? The insurance covers theft or burglary, so if you lose or leave your equipment forgotten, participation may be refused.
